Tours of the beautiful island of Corfu will have its main town as  starting point. The good road network makes the most important sites, and some of the most characteristic villages easily accessible, whether you choose to rent a car, or follow an organised tour, or get the local KTEL bus.

ITINERARY 1
Kerkyra – Kontokali • Gouvia – Kommeno – Dassia – Ipsos • Pyrghi – Barbati • Nissaki • Kouloura – Aghios Stefanos • Kassiopi • Acharavi.

Starting out from Corfu town in a northerly direction, we pass Alykes (4 kms from Corfu), a lively coastal settle­ment, well-equipped to welcome the tourist – as is all of the northeastern coast of the island.  Opposite, at the entrance of the harbour of Corfu, lies the islet of Vidos, the ancient Ptychia.

The road continues to Kontokali, with its high-quality tourist accommodation, and pleasure craft nestling inside its sheltered bay. We then come to Gouvia (9 kms from town), which was once a Venetian naval base, and now has a NTO marina and is one of the most popular tourist resorts on the island.
Opposite lies the islet of Lazaretto. Further north we come to Tzavro, and short detours to the east bring us to the vil­lage.
